Dice Installed!

Received my Dice iPod integration kit the other day and loving it. Installer hooked it up for 100 bucks. Directions are kind of general but not hard to fiqure out.

Pics are attached but its kind of basic. Not much to see but the text. A good thing about dice is you can have as many playlist as you like. Im up to 24 and still counting. The first playlist is just all of your songs, after that the sky is the limit (unless 99 is the limit).

have you figured out how to make the text show on the radio and the hud/where the odometers are? i cant make it do both. best option is the fact that it turns on and off when you change from cd to radio or turn the car on or off. HIGHLY REC. !

The text will display on your OBC (below the gauges) if you have Business CD, but not both on the radio/OBC - make sure the dip switches are all set to "OFF".

:banghead: I have been trying to do both as well. Funny thing is that Im slow and it took about 20 minutes to get it from the odometer back to the radio! If you fiqure it out be sure to let me know! Maybe Tom the vendor knows. Tom G, any input? No matter what I still love it!

Is your X5 a 3.0L or 4.4L? I will need to know if you have the OBC beneath the cluster.

3.0L X5s will not be able to display text underneath the gauges (high cluster), it can only display on the MID.

Mine is a 4.4 2001 with Nav and DSP, IT shows up on the Nav screen but not the cluster. BTW I have the icelink not the Dice.

Actually Tom, it will display just not at the same time with the radio(probably what you meant)

The deck is the main thing anyway so Im still satisfied.

One more thing, do you know if there is a way to view the names of the playlist? Currently Im just pressing 2 then searching (2-01, 2-02, etc)

EShem04 06-02-2006 08:31 PM

yea, dj is right, i got them to work on one or the other as well.
tom, what affect do my switches have, because they are all set to on, or whatever the factory default is?

i still havent really figured out how to use the album, playlist, song features..
but its still sick.

The DICE iPod kit does not offer playlist display, only the ice>Link Plus offers this feature.

Factory default is all switches set to "OFF". The kit will not operate correctly if the switches are set to any other position.

You will need to press CD #6 and press the right arrow a few times until the text shows up on the OBC Cluster. Then you're set!

tijanaw 06-03-2006 02:32 PM

Thanks Tom:thumbup:

Hi Tom, for some reasons I can't get it to work. When I press CD#6 and the right arrow, it keeps switching from setup, albumplay, artist to playlist. All this on the Nav screen but not on the obc cluster. Any ideas?

What exactly are you trying to do? Move the text to the OBC?
