Looking to purchase X6M. Need opinions and advice.
Good evening fellow enthusiasts.
All my life I've only owned BMW's and ready for my next level adventure. Currently that appears to be a BMW X6M. What I am looking for all is input about any and everything regarding this magnificent creature. I doubt the purchase will go past a 2015 so any owners of 2014's and 15's particularly. I'd also like to know if there are any reasons or differences between 2012 and 2014/15. Is it so much that I should stay around the newer years? Well I am excited and my X5 4.6is will appreciate the rest.:dunno::dunno: |

Coming from a 4.6 I think you'd be happier in a 2014, which was the last model year for the E71. You need to test drive them both. Good luck! |
Thank you! Much appreciated. Looking at a few 2014's now. Odd, in my research I see that the X6's aren't favored by many. I can't believe how many feel these aren't attractive.

I also am looking to get into a new to me x6m or x5m . I like the x6, my wife hates it. She wants the x5m.
I have already had the e53 4.4 sport and loved it till a valley pan gasket killed it. Anything specific to look for or look out for?? |

I don't normally buy first-year anything.... but this full, BMW dealer-sorted 2010 X6M with 106,000 miles got my blood boiling. Yeah, I paid $17,500 for it - but it needs minimal work, for the next 50,000 miles:
List of stuff done: 1) New Valve Cover Gaskets 2) New Mechanical Water Pump/Thermostat 3) New Electric Water Pump(Turbo) 4) New Secondary Electric Water Pump(BMW Recall) 5) New SRS Airbag steering wheel pack(BMW Recall) 6) New Intake Partitions 7) New Fan Switch 8) New rear air suspension struts 9) New HUD unit(BMW Warranty) 10) New Sway Bar end links 11) New Eldor ignition coils 12) New Index 12 fuel injectors(BMW Recall) 13) New Bosch spark plugs 14) New Brakes(rotor, pads, sensors) 15) New Coolant tank and cap 16) Transfer Case Fluid Serviced 17) New OEM BMW AGM battery 18) iDrive GPS maps updated to 2020 19) New PCV hoses I recently came from owning a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. It was tuned to 560hp/575tq and this little X6M beast still outguns it! |
