I will post some photo's in the next day or so. I pick the X5 up tomorrow evening. I had it briefly on late Friday night to test the new 6mm offset castor bushes but the X5 had to go back on Monday to get the balance of work done.
Monday the calipers were removed, black matte gidney grills installed, 7500k fogs & angels eyes. The yellow calipers & cermac pads went on late this afternoon (Tuesday), towbar is now installed also. Tomorrow is 20% tint, another wheel alignment, pre-delivery and then pickup at about 4:30pm. |
Good thing you get to use the EURO hitch that comes up from underneath... you gotta cut the bumper cover for the US spec hitch, which involves cutting a portion if the bumper trim away to make room. I wouldn't feel right cutting into that bumper on the M///

This is an excellent thread with a lot of keen observations. I do not think the full-body color "kills" the look on the ///M. Yes, the black trim does look sweet for the majority of us that have it on our E70s and E53s. But looks always "evolve", and I don't think the ///M HAS to have the contrasting trim to look bad-ass. The main things that it DEFINITELY needs IMO are: 1) larger wheels 2) roof rails 3) fog lights. I am hoping the first 2 of these will be easy-to-order factory options. And while I realize 'M' cars have not had fog lights, rules are made to be broken. That would really complete the look. After all, they've already broken the rule by making an 'M' SUV. That would have been sacrilege 10 years ago.
