Dealer Found An Allocation - Just ordered :)

Finally on it's way :)

Maybe these details will help someone else.

Yes, Yes, I know $1K off MSRP isn't that much, but they wouldn't move and I couldn't find another allocation anywhere.

(the one pictured below from Savage was perfect except for the beige interior :( )

Appreciate all the help from you guys.

So you have the prod #?

B-Line 09-08-2009 08:34 PM

$1k off isn't bad when you consider a lack of dealerships in your market.
And considering some people are paying $6k over, I'd say you are on the better side of the deal equation.

Are there better deals out there? Maybe... But how long you willing to wait and how far do you want to go?

Enjoy the car.. :)

Yes - at least I think this is it: 7083052

This was the Prod. number on the .pdf they emailed me

Look right?

Thanks - that's what I thought.

Two dealers locally, one of them I wouldn't do business with and 'the' local dealer with whom I've bought 3 new vehicles in the past.

Couple have been on eBay, but at MSRP and not the color and/or options I wanted.

No brainer, for me anyway.

J.Belknap 09-08-2009 10:01 PM

Congrats and enjoy! :D

Register it on owners circle.

HIRISC 09-08-2009 10:39 PM

I did.. it's the wrong prod number.. it's the 'first' X5M that my dealer had and pushed in under my nose on 8/31. Black/Black, etc.

I'll have to get the 'real' prod. number tomorrow. Oh well, not sweating it.

Kahunacanuck 09-09-2009 12:16 AM

To track the build process for the heck of it and where its in the process.(online is delayed) :D

You can also track at 800-831-1117 if got the # right.

B-Line 09-09-2009 05:54 PM

How do I register on the owners circle?

Links please :)

HIRISC 09-09-2009 06:00 PM

https://www.bmwusa.com/Secured/Content/Forms/Login.aspx

You need your production number or VIN

B-Line 09-09-2009 08:01 PM

So what does this mean?

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...production.png

HIRISC 09-09-2009 08:11 PM

It means you're about a week ahead of me ;)

B-Line 09-09-2009 08:56 PM

Does "Start" "02" "03" "04" "finish" mean weeks?

Also, the little blue arrow is at the end of 01. Does that mean the car is built and awating transport?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

HIRISC 09-09-2009 09:17 PM

I don't believe the numbers indicate weeks.. just step 1, step 2, etc.

My dealer told me 4 weeks +/-

Might take a couple of extra days to the West coast.

From what I remember on my wife's 335xi, you can call the dealer and they can tell you the status.

Good luck - the anticipation is a killer.

Your car is in Step 1..which is "Schedule for production". Go by where the grey car is parked on the steps...currently it is in Step 1. My guess is you should have it by mid to late October.

Online tracking is usually 2-4 days behind. Toll free # is more up to date.

Mine don't show either... I wouldn't worry about it.

bmwman3241 09-15-2009 05:57 PM

Is everyone ordering white on black??
I guess I had a good color in mind because that was my first choice...

B-Line 09-15-2009 07:38 PM

Nope..

Blk/Blk for me.

LeMansX5 09-15-2009 08:10 PM

///M exclusive colors for me....carbon black and sakhir orange.

jasonrhcastle 09-15-2009 08:16 PM

Carbon and Cinnamon....

HIRISC 09-15-2009 09:06 PM

<IMO>

Black/Carbon - look great, PIA to keep clean where I live - this will be my daily driver

Blue - looks great for 2 weeks, til the novelty wears off.

Red - I don't need that much attention.

Gray - wife has a space gray 335xi

Silver(stone) - have a car that color already.

White - always looks clean, hides scratches, crisp - the winner for me.

</IMO>

ps.. anyone who confuses the the X5M with any other X5 didn't get a good look or isn't remotely a car-person.

bmwman3241 09-17-2009 12:30 PM

What is included in the drivers assistance package? I really want the cameras all around the car, but it is not showing as an option on BMW UK. Is it a US option only?

Don't know about U.S. vs non-U.S., but here's the package info:

I have the 3 options listed for the package, but my interest is the turn cameras in the side view mirror.

Small world indeed :)

Did you lease yours?

How did the numbers work out? Would you mind sharing with the board?

Yes, I leased it. Happy to share.

Here's exactly what I ordered:
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l5...5M-Ordered.jpg

Money factor started at .0036 and I laughed at them. Got them 'down' to .0029 (they got the last laugh) and they wouldn't move below that. Very high rate, but not much higher than on the Cayenne Turbo/S or the Mercedes ML63 (the other two trucks I considered briefly). MF on 4.8i's was .00125 :(

FYI - Residual value on 36 month term with 15K miles per year is 52%. I did 12K a year at 54% residual.

My payment on 36 month/12k a year @.0029 money factor came in at $1574 - no cap cost reduction.

Use the lease calculator here:
Car Lease Calculator — Monthly Lease Payments and Costs

LMK if I can help further.

BGM 09-30-2009 05:03 PM

I'm not sure what all that means but did you have to put money down on your lease ? At $1,500 it sounds like you did.

HIRISC 09-30-2009 05:08 PM

Not one $ down.

Down payments (or what is called cap cost reduction) on leases are a bad idea - for insurance payout reasons. Some people put money down to keep their payment down - or because it's required by the manufacturer.

I paid Acquisition Fee, Doc. Licensing, First Payment, and Tax up front - About $7500. In MN, tax on the leased amount is payable up front :(

You can use the lease calculator to enter - MSRP, cap cost (negotiated 'buy price'), money factor, residual value and lease duration.

It's just a simple math problem.

Ouch on the tax upfront..

So that price is not including monthly tax?

Sorry, just saw this.

Yes, the $1574 is excluding tax.

Seems like everyone has their hand out for $$ lately. MN lease tax is just one of the offenders :(
