Hehe, maybe in Cali you can get away with it, but they are pretty strict up here on the front plate...they need it to nail you with their laser guns!

Speaking of that, I am looking at installing the Escort 9500 ci built in radar detector/laser jammer...anybody else? I had one in my M5 and it saved my butt a few times!

I don't let them drill my plates.. No way, no how. And while it's not uncommon to to get a ticket for not having a front plate, I'd rather pay that stupid ticket then give an officer a big medal target on the front of my car for his laser.

In addition, can't stand the way it looks. All my cars are "no front plate".

I'd say, I get a no front plate ticket about once every year or two. It's worth it to pay it and not keep on the plate. They don't pull you over for not having front plates.. At least not in my experience. And it reduces the chances they can catch you for photo red light, which is unconstitutional to begin with.. Damn the man.

Besides, you're all driving 555hp ///M cars now. By definition, you're already an outlaw :D

I had no plate on my vette, and got grief all the time...used to keep it behind my passenger seat and throw it on the dash when I saw a Mountie...just didn't feel like the hassle on this one... I agree with you, it is ridiculous...but I also thought with the gaping maw we have on these things a little plate wouldn't be a big deal...I was obviously wrong!:bustingup

that X6///M is beautiful! but what's with all the ///M cars and alpine white? ///M cars should have special ///M colors!

I run no-front plate on my Z06 and have been pretty lucky.

That said, this is my daily and I actually don't mind the plate location on the X5 :p:

No photo red light anymore in Minnesota. Laser, yes but I run a V1 in every car I have. No laser jammers in MN either :(

The choices were not that great imho, I had a Blue Z06 and wanted a change, Silver Grey M5 and a Sterling Grey X5, so silver or Grey were done for me as well, I swore I would never have another Black car after my 330i, so other than that I could choose Carbon Black (a blue that is almost black, see my previous comment), Red (give me a ticket!), or white. I agree, I would have loved a funky flat colour like the recent M6 they brought out or something "different" but I went with White as it was different for me...
