It is worth it if you are in East Coast or Midwest. I think you are just too far and PCD is not such a big deal worth driving 3k miles for..

I thought it was a great experience. If the OP has the time to drive cross country and plan a vacation around it, without having to kill himself to get back home right away, what better way to become acquainted with a new ///M.

He'll get to drive an ///M that doesn't doesn't belong to him to see what it can do. They tell you remember NYC (not your car). By the time he gets home, break in will be over.

Rez, yeah that is the deterrent, i love driving and i've already did one long haul trip in the past 3 months (from toronto in the lancia to portland) although this one will be much more comfortable!!

The slalom is where you'll have some fun. You can go as fast as you want, as long as they see you can handle it. And it's great to feel what the X is capable of. It's not a lot of time behind the wheel. You probably spend about 1/2 hour on the slalom and another 1/2 hour doing the emergency braking exercises. If you want more driving time, they have the one or two day ///M driving schools, Maybe you can coordinate the driving school with the PCD.

In addition to the slalom and emergency braking, you drive on a skid pad in a 3 series. You have an instructor in the car with you. Then you drive on a man made off road course an X5.

I just saw that you're scheduled for production in January. It's probably not an ideal time of the year to drive cross country :dunno:
