Rotora Ceramic Composite Brake System (RCCBS)

1 Attachment(s)
I was bored the other night and e-mailed around looking for carbon rotors. Stoptech does not have any big brake kit for the X5M and no ETA for carbon rotors.

Rotora does have a kit available. Here are the details.

Front:
6-Piston Forged Caliper
355mm(14”) x 32mm 2- piece Ceramic Composite Disc System
Billet Aluminum Caliper Bracket: 7075-T6
Ceramic Pads
Stainless Steel Brake Lines: DOT Compliant

Rear:
4-Piston Forged Caliper
355mm(14”) x 32mm 2-piece Ceramic Composite Disc System
Billet Aluminum Caliper Bracket: 7075-T6

Ceramic Pads
Stainless Steel Brake Lines: DOT Compliant

It is interesting that the carbon rotors are so much smaller than the stock rotors. Wonder if that would look weird. Stock rotors are F= 15.6” and R= 15.2”

Oh, yeah did I mention the price?

Ready?

$15,000

I might have considered $8k but $15K! ouch

But why?

Some people seem to have too much money AND time at their hands. :D

The X5/X6 M is not a sportscar and never will be. Only thing which would make sense is adding some 50-100 horses but only if you really need a performance boost in the speed range above 100 mph. Otherwise, the X5/X6 M is almost perfect, maybe a better exhaust sound wouldn't hurt but thats it.

that's lame.. are you sure they are for the X5 M?

there are no carbon ceramics because no matter what you say they still squeak like hell when cold. just look at all the people who complain about stock squeaky brakes..

btw.. 15K is not bad.. I paid $18K extra on mine.

Id be interested in knowing how much testing Rotora did before releasing this. Stoptech almost all but scrapped the idea. I love the weight savings especially of unsprung weight, however for the x5m its pretty worthless.

BTW SANguru, your 18K option also came with what looks like a standard 430 and a 360 challenge.....on a car like that it makes perfect sense.
