X5 M & X6 M audio system question
 

Does anyone have the "Dirac Live" audio system setup in their car? Is it significantly better than the standard E70 X5 audio system?

Never heard of this brand before, to be honest.

I'am never happy with the BMW sound system, my E53 4.8is had an average sound system, not so good.

The current E70 has a better one but still not good enough, and you realize that after you seat in an Audi and listen to Bang & Olufsen, or an AMG Merc.

I would not mind coming up with extra 2-3K to pay for the very high end sound system

I hope what you have mentioned in this thread, is good enough to be called High End

Does the X5M come with the individual audio system if you select the premium audio package? I looked at the order sheet and it's the same number as the option one on the M3 that is supposd to be the individual...so I am assuming that would make it true...no?

I am having the Harman Kardon LOGIC7 in my E93 ... it is really outstanding!
In the E53 it was horrible and I replaced all speakers and added a sub/amp
The same applies to the E46, I replaced everything

What's the number on the order sheet?

I think the optional upgraded stereo is called the premium stereo. I haven't heard the standard stereo but the premium isn't great at all. The bass is lacking. The in floor subwoofers are crap.

No, the stereo option is different for the X5 M than the standard E70 X5.

Reading the news article on dirac's site.
"both (X5M and X6M) available with the BMW Individual High End Sound System option featuring Dirac Live."
Looks like it is a feature of the Individual HE sound system.

Is the premium audio different than the Individual sound system?

Same name and code on the M3 if you select the audio option.

Hmm, wonder if that means it's the same deal?

I had this option on my M3. Compared to the sound in my 35d x5 with premium sound I hate to say ... But it sounds pretty much the same !! :-)
