Sophisto Gray?

Will it be available for 2011 special order? Basically a deal breaker for me if it's not available.

Funny you should ask....

I just checked bmwusa yesterday to see what colors they are offering for the 2011 X6 ///M.

Fingers crossed for you. I'm hoping it's available by 2013.

Cheers,

Nah...all my vehicles and bikes are and have been black (except my first bike Ninja 500R). The mods i've dreamt up will work perfectly for sophisto gray.

cmyX6go...fingers AND toes crossed. I believe when one is purchasing such a premium vehicle they should be able to customize to their taste. I'm sure if they require a buyer to come out of pocket, it would be costly.

It is likely possible, but in the US, many dealers are not willing to make the effort to get Individual colours.
Find a dealer that is willing to go to the extra effort. It will likely cost you at least $5K (that's what an M3 costs for an Individual colour).

Good luck! Sophisto Grey would be killer!

I wanted it for my X6. I figured the paint was at the plant for the anniversary edition X5 so what's the big deal. If I was buying instead of leasing I would have pushed the issue. I'm sure for a price it can be done.

Exactly.

BTW, Sophisto gray is Dark Graphite metallic in US, as seen on new 5 and 7.

Well off course anything can be had for a price but that's besides the point. If a consumer is putting out $100k for your flagship product, what sense does it make to charge extra for a specific color?

Does Porsche require an additional charge for "special" colors? I guess i'd better understand if one requested gold flakes mixed into the paint job...i mean, really, is sophisto gray (aka dark graphite metallic) so sophisticated that it requires an added charge to an already hefty price tag?!

I really do hope BMWNA lurks on these forums. I assume they already do...hence the demand to cease the use of X5World

Yes. Porsche charges $3,140 for special colors on the Cayenne. The 2 colors offered are the GTS Red and the Nordic Gold.

I drove a 2011 550i in sophisto aka dark grey whatever..today. The color is great. Good luck.
