Stupid Question for the X5M Owners
Do any of you lucky ducks wish you got the 5.0 instead for any reason?
|
I think about it sometimes although I have not driven 5.0 yet. The whole X5 buying process started when we were looking for a car for my wife. She loved the 4.8 and I almost got one with the M pack. But then I found out that they were changing out in March and did not want a car that would be essentially completely revised in few months and costs 75K. Test drove the X5M and I was done with it. But it became my car, wife still needs a car and she is not happy with me. Had the 5.0 been available at the time, I probably would have gotten that for her

"wife still needs a car and she is not happy with me." :bustingup
I didnt even look at any other versions. i was watching & waiting for the M for years. As soon as it came out , i purchased it. |
I was going to get an X6 5.0 but really there is no comparison. I too have been waiting for an M version since introduction of the X5 series and could not be happier now.

how long do you guys expect to keep your Ms? I am thinking of getting x6M as well but just saw residuals taht are much lower than I expected so I'm concerned with resale value. 5-yr residuals are 29% of MSRP.

I'm looking to decide between the two and the new cayenne. Cayenne comes out in a month so haven't driven that, but the dealership gave
me a x5m for a day and the x550 for a day. Both are great cars. Both smooth. Both tons to room compared to my cayenne gts. still undecided bc I hear the x's are neck and neck with the new cayenne in a straight road but on track the cayenne beats. Off topic but just expressing test results. Acceleration is similar vs m and turbo but air suspension and pdcc are superior for eliminating body roll vs even the M. The x is a much better fit for my family size-wise. 2nd row is great in the x. Difference is the 50 can opt for 3rd row. And when you get that the 2nd row reclines and also slides forwRd. vERY fictional and comfortable. Wish the m was available in the nappa softer leather besides just on steering wheel and dash. Wish seats were available. I prefer yhe interaction in the m over the 50, meaning the suspect and timing adjustment. The 50 is set the m gives you the option. 50 offered tow m doesn't. 50 bumpers are snazzy but like the m better. Even the m package on the 50 is nice but still not as nice as the m. Huge intercoolers on m so no fogs cs 50. Like the color heads up m display vs just orange on 50 and white tach color vs orange on 50. Hmmmm anything else I can remember i will edit... |
I test drove a X6 50i before I getting my X5M just to see how powerful the 50i felt. I thought it was still underpowered and felt lethargic under 3k rpm. There's definitely a lag before the power really kicks at around 3k+ rpm on the 50i. The M is better than the 50i in every way except maybe exhaust sound.
