new 2011 x5m
Greetings! I recently ordered a 2011 X5m and is being shipped to the dealer and expected to arrive early august. I got it with pretty much every package except for rear seat entertainment and the color is silverstone metallic. i am coming from a range rover sport and i currently drive a 2010 c63 and man both car is very high maintenance the. my c63's rear tires are almost gone and i only have 3000 miles. i was just wondering if this car is the same. i know BMW offers free maintenance for certain amount of years. what does it include? (tires, brakes, etc.:dunno:)

Congrats on your purchase! The maintenance plan I believe is 4 years, 50K mileage to include wearables and general maintenance based on your CBM (conditonal basesd mileage indicator, ie. what the car tells you.) The next plan is the extended maintenance to take you to 100K or 6 years at a premium cost of near 4K I think for M models. |
very nice make sure to post a few photos of the car!
I have just over 15k on my M and i have only replaced my tires with most everything else covered for 100k miles...( 2k for 100k) (had the oil changed too but bmw covered it for me ) you will love the car but make sure you 3M tape the front and sides ! |
why 3m tape??? rockchips?
what warranties are recomended? |

I had both my 2010 X5M and my 2010 X5 M Sport done with venture shield.
I'm removing it from the front of both cars. I'm going back to a front end mask (car bra) and mirror bra for the mirrors. 3M works great to prevent rock chips. But it's got some pretty serious issues outside of that. At least that's my experience after a nearly 4k mile road trip. I haven't has time to write a post about what went wrong, but basically bugs on the 3M film ruined it in just a couple days. 3M's response was yep got to get the bugs off as soon as they get on the film or it will be permanently damaged. Which it was. I will say though there is not a single chip anywhere the is and there are a couple pretty good impact marks. But to have to replace the film on the front every few months just won't work me. |
Congratulations on your new x. You really split the difference between the rr sport and the c63 :D I think you will find your new ride to be very reliable and less costly to maintain that your rr. Tires will always be an expense when your hauling ass with a big motor...factor in the x5's weight and it does not help. Please remember to post some pics when you get it...we are freaks around here for a look at a new bimmer!
