Track day.... lol

LOL so i got "pressured" to track the X5....all it took was one person saying "Hay Haithem i thin....." and me cutting him off saying "TRACK THE TOW VEHICLE" ...lol

If any of you know PIR in portland, or....I was hitting 134 on the back straight and 130/1 on the front. With better tires and more confidence in the brakes im sure i could be much faster.....but i got the beast to oversteer hahahahaha So i can officially say i've drifted the car!! But yep....very capable on the track!

You need an e30 M3

OctoberFast is coming up at Road America the BMWCC in August. I have been thinking about taking the X5M up to it for giggles. I think it would be a ton of fun on the track. I am concerned about tires and brakes. Tires are $500 a piece for the 215 wheels. And while the brake rotors are over 15" in diameter, the calipers and pads are completely inadequate for the hard braking at RA.

I wasn't even going 7/10ths.....and i felt it needed more brakes!!! The tires are very inadequate...they got goopy around 4 laps....so yeah....unless you want to get Rcomps and do a brake flush and get some custom made SS brake lines.....i'd only do a few laps!

Kind of what I figured. Sure would be nice to see what it could do.

da3bous,
Do you run the Lotus in SCCA? What class?

Running it in Conference in the Pac North west next year. Its a new class that has a 1 to 10 power to weight ratio as the biggest rule. Even then it is wheel horsepower and weight with driver in the car. So a lotus exige puts out 240 crank which is about 210-220 wheel....the car stock is 2077 pounds without driver....I vary anywhere between 180-200 depending on much working out i do and then added weight of cage, fire system, full aero, wider rims with R comps, and some other goodies.

I haven't run the car yet, itll be campaigned next season, but the car that was competitive this season was an E46 M3, and not a single lotus run in the class. So i think i should be good!
