"Increased battery discharge"
Has anyone experience "increased battery discharge" notification?? I brought it to the dealer and they wanted to keep the car for more than a day. Still do not know exactly what causing it.

Does it sound right?? They told me that they just ordered a new alternator. It was the one causing "increased battery discharge" notification.

I've seen this message a couple times.. not every time I drive it (start it), so I'm waiting.
Let us know the outcome and if the new alt. resolves it. Thanks. P.s. more than a day seems odd to replace an alternator (though they are a beyotch on these). |
So far... Replacing the alternator resolved it. I was disappointed coz I have never experienced to bring back a new car so soon for issues like this and... They let me drive a hyundai loaner car :(

The part about bringing in your new car for service is annoying, but expected in anything German. Glad it resolved the issue.. I'll probably make an appointment, though my local dealer only loans out BMW's :dunno: |
Had you had your M serviced just before it happened? I had this error just after having mine services - actually in the parking lot of the dealer. Then a similar thing just after having my Z4 serviced and to my wife just after her 5er was serviced. I suspect that they may put a drain on the battery when they are in the shop. If the alternator of battery is weak that it the last straw. If not all it needs is a good run on the highway.
