x5m does it burn oil?

Wondering if i should stock up on oil? my E92 m3 burns a quart every 4000 miles

Every BMW I have ever owned burns some oil (the X5 more than others).

My dealer provides a bottle of BMW oil in a carry case, with a funnel and gloves, complimentary to every vehicle purchaser. Dealers sell that accessory kit if your dealer didn't throw one in.

Suggest you buy a quart/litre and keep it in the vehicle. The X5M/X6M don't use the traditional M oil (10w-60) but rather 5w-30.

I have burned a quart every 5K miles or there abouts.

hum, strange. None of my BMW ever burned any oil, none. Having said that, I change oil every 6-7k miles

Are you sure? I thought all M-line use the 10w-60:dunno:

Check out what the people on the Porsche Cayenne forums are saying about the new models. Some are taking a quart every 500 miles.

Yes. Check your manual. The S63 engine is not the same as previous M engines.

At that rate it would fail all emissions testing.

Check the manual but it doesn't mention what engine oil the S63 engine is suppose to be using.:dunno:
