Not sure what these pic's really are showing. It is for sure a numbered and roundel camo'ed test mule.The exterior is identical to the current X6 M as best I can tell from viewing the car and the pic's that I took.I could not get a look inside the car.The logical conclusion is that something internal is being tested.The quad exhaust tips look to be non production....or they could just be dirty...hard to tell.Given the new "bumped" S63 TT V8 is coming very soon on the new F10 M5...could BMW be testing that powerplant in the current X5 M and X6 M??? Given BMW's recent push for commonality of powerplants...it makes sense the X5 and X6 M's would get the new F10 M5 engine.Thanks. PalBay

Per latest the special edition X6M will have the M3 CRT like confiig. KERS, optional carbon brakes, carbon roof, more HP, and the list goes on.
There is not even a rumor at this time that there will be X6M like special edition for X5M as well but I have a feeling BMW will probably have one before the production of X5M ends. M3 sedan production ends in October, and we have seen few special edition M3 sedans in last 6 months, introduced in limited editions in different markets. Whether X5M and X6M get similar treatment before they disappear remains to be seen. |

The X6/X6 M LCI's broke cover last wk on both sides of the Atlantic.I've got X6 LCI pic's in White...more to follow.I caught this X6 M LCI with... for me... this never before seen lettering below the M gills. It appears to say "FIT" w/ a heavy black line under the word.I note this lettering because in 8 yrs of viewing BMW test mules I've never seen ANY lettering/writing on the cars...except black tape,swirly camo and serial numbers.Makes me believe the lettering means something this time around.I guess time will tell the tale.
