1 Attachment(s)
New BMW M Performance products.

The intriguing character of BMW M cars is further emphasised by the BMW M Performance range of accessories. These complement those available for the BMW M3 and include new products for the power train, the suspension, aerodynamics and the cockpit and have now been extended to include other models. Wing mirror covers and a rear spoiler are available for the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. These accessories are manufactured from carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), handmade by BMW. In addition, an eye-catching BMW M Performance kidney-shaped radiator grille is available in a black, high-gloss finish.

The BMW M Performance range of accessories for the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M allow the driver's own distinctive personality to shine through. For both models,
21-inch BMW M Performance light alloy wheels in double-spoke design,
a BMW M Performance carbon front splitter and a front grille in black are now available
.
In addition to the BMW M Performance rear spoiler and the BMW M Performance tail fins in black,
model-specific BMW M Performance side skirts underline the dynamic elegance of the BMW X6 M. Perfect control and an authentic racing feel are provided by the
BMW M Performance steering wheel, which is available for the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M. It has an Alcantara cover and a rim that is designed with a flat section at the bottom. In addition, it sports three-colour M stitching and a centre marker at the top in racing blue.

The BMW M Performance range of accessories has now also been complemented by an attractive new innovation in the field of design. The BMW M Performance side stripes for the BMW 1Series M Coupe, the BMW M3 Coupe, the BMW M3 Convertible, the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M refine the distinctive appearance of the BMW M, adding an exclusive sporty accent to the vehicle.

Wheels look nice. I wonder what they consider "light"? Front splitter looks nice. They can keep the stripes.

Are they joking with the stripes? Who would get those?

You would be surprised. I have already seen a white X6M with the M stripes.

X5X 09-07-2011 04:20 PM

Nice - stripes and wheels IMO

donho 09-08-2011 04:38 AM

I picked up this truck since it was a sleeper. It is not that much different then most X5 with sport package. Infact most people who do not know BMWs have no clue what it is. I ran into a friend of my buddy's that thought I stuck M badges on my soccer mom X5!!!

Stripes would ruin the sleeper image.

DarkCloud 09-08-2011 09:45 PM

They should have made the front splitter a bit more aggressive. I would love to see pics of that flat-bottom steering wheel.

The "yellow corona rings" are definately out of place on a car like this.

That will be fixed in few months. ;)

998M 12-04-2011 10:25 PM

When is someone going to make larger carbon paddles for the XM's? I wanted to do it but I would have to buy the BMW paddles for $800 then pay to have them modified to carbon. I would like them a little bigger.

IGotId 12-04-2011 11:33 PM

i wish they'd make those wheels available for sale...

Haven't seen these! They look great!

New options?

Anyone has any idea what new options/packages will be available for the 2013 X5/6M?

IGotId 01-24-2012 11:45 PM

We will know some of the stuff for X6 M when the press release for facelift X6 comes out on Jan 26th. How much of it will be offered in X5 M remains to be seen.

BMW M performance accessories are finally here.
Finally 21" Style 310M Bi-colored M wheels made for X5 M and X6 M.

See details below

GmoneyLI 03-07-2012 02:53 PM

Don't know if I'm a fan of the rims...

iMpower 03-07-2012 02:55 PM

I wonder how much the 21" wheels weigh compared to the 20s. If they are heavier, then the car might be slower with them on...

Price of the 21s will probably pretty steep too.

I think I might go with the X6M style 300M wheels for the x5m.

GmoneyLI 03-07-2012 03:10 PM

The price is going to be high I'm sure.. 7-8k with tires I would say.

Personally I'm just powder coating the X5M wheels. The x6m wheels aren't dramatically different, especially powder coated black, so I can't justify spending that kind of money on them.

If the 21s are that expensive I don't think I can justify ordering those. I thought, however, the X6M wheels for the X5M will be a no-cost option?

iMpower 03-07-2012 07:11 PM

I like the front carbon splitter and the black grille. Those I will definately get. The others don't raise my blood pressure.

It's not an available option at all actually. U would have to do that on ur own.

I like the front splitter as well but if it's not cheaper then the Vorsteiner one I'm going to go with the latter.

I believe it may be an option for the 2013 model per this article below:

U.S. Pricing announced for 2013 BMW X5 M and 2013 BMW X6 M

Optional equipment:
  • Active Ventilated Seat Package (ZAV) – Active Ventilated Seat package no longer includes SA456 and has been re-priced to $900.
  • Full LED Headlights (552) now available as a stand-alone option for $1,900
  • Now, either M light alloy wheel style may be ordered on the either model at no charge (2NT remains standard on X5 M, 2NU remains standard on X6 M).

Other than it sounding really cool, does the LED headlights have an advantage?

Remember when Xenon headlights came and Halogen lights were standard. Xenon were much brighter as compared to halogen and also had the coolness factor in that they were bright white. Same deal now. LED headlights are more bright than Xenons and consume less power. They are the new 'bright headlights' in the market. ;) They are standard on X5 M and X6 M in markets other than US, but $1900 option in US. :(

BMW on Adaptive LED headlights:

The Adaptive LED headlights in the BMW X6 M illuminate the road in a unique way. Safety and sportiness form an unbeatable team.

Two three-dimensional light rings enclose the central LED modules of the headlights and create the typically sporting appearance of BMW. Dipped and high beam incorporate the LED module and both light rings and shine without the usual ‘dot effect’. Because its temperature is very similar to that of daylight, LED light has a very bright beam, enabling traffic signs to be seen more clearly.

Cornering lights, Adaptive headlights and High Beam Assistant are all integrated into the headlights. Cornering lights turn on automatically when bends are taken slowly. The Adaptive headlights react continuously to movements of the steering wheel and to speed, thus illuminating winding roads perfectly. The High Beam Assistant switches between full and dipped beam according to the traffic, thus easing the load on the driver during the dark. Dipped beam, accent lighting and direction indicators are also implemented with LED technology.

You know it is quite annoying actually that we'll have to pay 2 grand on the headlight option on a 100 grand suv! Knowing that other markets get it for "free" doesn't help the frustration.

998M 03-07-2012 11:17 PM

I just want to know how bright a headlight can get before an oncoming Honda Civic plows into me because the driver was blinded.

So is it Cornering lights or Adaptive headlights that are working when I have the truck sliding sideways, full opposite lock with my right foot buried?

I didn't realize the wheels were an option on the 2013. I just bought mine a month ago and now the new headlights are out Smh.

As far as price, we get the vehicle for significantly cheaper then any place else so having to pay for the options isn't all that bad IMO. A lot of places have it much worse lol

Also are the matte grills a DIY install?

The front carbon fiber splitter is over 2 Grand!

Not cheap by any means.:stickpoke

Does anyone know if those M Perf Side skirts fit the E70 X5M.
