Newbie question: 214s on X5M?
 

I am considering the purchase of a pre owned black X5M as a replacement for my 2006 X5 4.8is. I like everything about the M except for the wheels. Would the staggered style 214 wheels (20 inch) fit without any issues? Has anyone done this (pics?). Sorry if this has been previously asked, I did do a search.

Also for anyone that came from a 4.8is, other than acceleration, how would you compare the two machines? My 2006 has just 7K miles, and I have enjoyed it.

The rear style 214 wheels won't fit but you can get adopters that make it work. There is no comparison in acceleration, M is a completely different beast. I think even the 5.0 may be quicker than 4.8is. Let me know if you decide to sell your car, I may even consider a trade.

I appreciate the useful information. I'm really thinking the 214s would like nice on the M. My 2006 is in perfect shape with just 7K miles, and I do have a Platinum warranty on it for 5 years from Fidelity.
