Tailpipe black exhaust
What do you guys use to clean the baked on black residue on the tailpipes for an M? It is hard and seems baked on from the heat. Anything good?

A can of Eagle One Nevr-Dull wadding polish will to the trick. Its like rubbing a wad of thick cotten candy on your tailpipe. It will take off the black and bring back the chrome.

Recently used flitz polish with great results, granted my M has only 1300 miles.

I use Adam's Metal Polish #1 and Adam's Metal Polish #2 and it does a great job. The # 2 gives a nice shine as advertised.

Thanks guys I'll try one or more of these...

For the carbon buidlup on the inner edges. I use a scuffy pad.
I hate it, it is built up on my E63 as well. But I can say that with the tune, the buildup is alot less |
My M will be 2 years next month and even though I get it washed regularly, I usually forget to ask them to wipe down the exhaust tips. Needless to say, it looks like it's black matte powder coated now and I'm starting to get some of the carbon around the lower bumper by the exhaust too! UGH!
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them out if the auto detailers can't get it out. |
