Cold engine, black smoke?

I usually let the car warm up for a good 2-3mins at least till the rpms drop before i leave.

Upon leaving the house, my friend was behind me and noticed a bit of black smoke come from my exhaust as I left. He said it wasnt a lot but a little bit, and obviously noticable.

He said it was due to a turbo engine and some turbos do that due to a cold engine.

You guys know anything about this and our cars? (car only has 2k miles)

I don't see the connection between the engine being turbocharged and having some black smoke on startup.

As an aside though, it would be far better for your engine if you didn't let it idle for 2-3 minutes before driving off. Let it idle until it has oil pressure (about 10 seconds) and then drive it immediately, but with moderate throttle and load. It will warm up much faster with a gentle load than it will idling with no load.

The above assumes that your windshield is clear and that it is safe to drive.
