Conti ExtremeContact DWS tire pressure

I finally got a chance to trade in my stock X5M RFT tires for a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS (same tire sizes as stock). The shop that installed them inflated them to 38 PSI. I am wondering if tire pressure BMW recommends for X5M stock tires is still valid for these non-RFT tires (probably not) and if so, what pressure should I run?

At 38 PSI cold, it visually looks like tires are under-inflated, especially in the front.

I have the same tires and run about 38 as well. How do you like the tires? I can not get them balanced for some reason

I have not been able to go faster than 65 Mph yet, but i did notice steering wheel vibration that started at around 55-60 Mph. The shop that installed the tires obviously balanced them, but I read A LOT of posts on the Internet about people having vibration issues with these tires and decided not to even bother with re-balancing them since it wont do anything.

I had to get rid of stock tires after having a very scary experience on a snow-covered street 2 days after I took delivery. I tried braking, but the foking thing just kept going like nothing happened - no change of speed or direction. Good thing the street was completely empty and i was going straight at about 25 mph. Took about 5 seconds to come to a stop. I'll take a little steering wheel vibration over that any time. Plus, don't forget that these tires are symmetrical, so they can actually be rotated left to right and may last longer.

Aren't your stock tires high performance summer only? Shouldn't be driving them on snow. Looking to replace mine with the DWS too but didn't know about the vibration issue.

I have tried to balance them 5 different times now, still have an annoying shake around 70mph. This has ruined the driving experience for me. With only 1500 miles, I am thinking of taking them off and move on, problem is not sure what to get instead. One shop told me my wheel was bent so I ended up buying a new wheel to no avail.

Initially when I had the Continentals installed I did notice a vibration at the higher speeds but it wasn't that bad that it affected my driving, but just enough that I was aware of it. I never considered changing them out but was planning on getting them rebalanced. I never did find the time to bring it to the garage and after awhile the vibrations were no longer noticeable (gone.)
