Long term reliability of the x5m?
 

My lease is up soon and I was considering buying it out and keeping the x5m as my winter/extra car. Any thoughts on the long term reliability of the motor and transmission? Is this a 100k+ mile kind of car?

Will the drivetrain last that long? Yes.

Will it be economically viable to keep it that long? Not in my opinion.

It depends on your luck. If you have a trouble free car and take good care of it, it should last past 100K.

Of course it will. Any car maintained properly will last forever.
