cmyX6go 08-10-2012 09:00 AM

I have a production number!

I pulled the trigger yesterday. 2013 X6 ///M. Space Grey, Black Full Merino, Piano Black trim.

Let the waiting begin. :tapping:

Naz24 08-10-2012 09:09 AM

Wow! Congrats!! Im jealous, love that car.

So it'll be cmyX6Mgo? Haha

cmyX6go 08-10-2012 09:16 AM

Thanks Naz. I'm not sure if I'm going to change my screen name yet.

Where is KYZRSOSE? If he sees the name of this thread he is going to :thud: LOL!

motordavid 08-10-2012 09:23 AM

Congrats, L!
Holyfookinmoly...are you gonna warn the populous of your surrounding 'driving locale'?!
GL, mD

cmyX6go 08-10-2012 09:42 AM

I don't have to warn them, they'll hear me coming. Or at least I hope they will. Someone (maybe LeMans) said a while back that the exhaust on my 50i had a better growl than the ///M.

Thanks mD.

EDIT: My sweetie's ringtone for me on his phone is the sound of an engine revving and tires squealing. :dunno::rofl:

FSETH 08-10-2012 10:05 AM

Wow! You're not messing around are you? Congrats.

LeMansX5 08-10-2012 10:44 AM

That's great news. Decided on PCD yet? I have a letter from BMW for free PC training school on purchase of new car. Did you get something like that?

I can't do PCD this time. I have not received anything on training school. I will ask my salesman. I'd go down for that in a heart beat.

FSETH 08-10-2012 11:01 AM

^ You should do this if you have the opportunity. I did my first autocross on that track a few months back and I think you would really enjoy it.

I'd love to. Been thinking about doing the ///M driving school for some time. May have to re-visit that if I can't get what LeMans is talking about. And thanks :)

rayxi 08-10-2012 11:17 AM

Congrats Laura. :)

How long is the wait?

cmyX6go 08-10-2012 11:22 AM

Thanks Ray. Not sure yet. I put in the order requesting delivery early October. I almost don't want to know if it comes in early because I know I'll wind up turning in my current X6 early.

I'm going to try not to do what I did the last time and torture you all with my waiting and checking the build status

Dannyell 08-10-2012 11:39 AM

Congrats on the M!! ... and please do share the torture :D

cmyX6go 08-14-2012 06:00 AM

You have had black for a long time. Last two X I guess. You had a grey E53...I like grey.
MC blue is ///M exclusive. ;)

2001 X5 Black
2005 X5 Sterling Grey - Loved that color
2008 X5 Black
2010 X6 Black
2013 X6 ///M will be grey

I briefly considered both the MC Blue and the Red. Although the Space Grey does nothing for me on the X5, it seems flat. I love it on the X6. It really shows the lines nicely and somehow the color looks more metallic.

Cheers,

Thank you, I promise plenty of pics. But I think Jan has me beat, I don't think I'll be able to replicate his pic below.

Jan - I remember seeing this picture. At the time I was trying to decide whether it made sense to get the M, you pushed me over the edge. Thank you sir

;-) always happy to push :)
Can't wait to see the new ride ! You'll love it, it's a great car and I enjoyed every minute driving it. I had a hard time deciding between the F10 M5 and a X6M , in the end I opted for the M5. Taking Euro Delivery on 10/1 , hopefully we'll all meet next spring in CT !! .
Likely also time to consider parting with the X5 as it's mostly sitting in the garage now :(

 There are 22 US bound F10 M5s being delivered on September 1 at the BMW Welt. It will be one busy day at the Welt....all the people who took advantage of Euro allocations, and some got them at $500 over invoice.

BTW, I admire your X5. How many miles did you put on it?

Yes 9/1 and 9/3 will be busy delivery dates :)
I take mine on 10/1 and two friends will come along (one is the General Manager of my BMW dealer and the other one the shop foreman :) ) , we'll be driving the major alp passes (Grossglockner, Cortina D'Ampezzo, Stelvio, Silvretta, Kochelsee etc).
Also have a factory tour for Dingolfing (where the M5 is produced) and a ///M Studio tour lined up. Should be a fun trip.

The X5 has 80k on it , just have to find the right enthusiast for it as it's still in pretty good condition :)

4.6is Ryder 08-19-2012 12:55 AM

:wow:..........I know I've been MIA but what have you done? Great power move L. What's on the mod list? As great as M vehicles are, we enthusiast have a tendency to mod the Sh*t out of them.......never really figured that out :driver:.................Phil

cmyX6go 08-19-2012 07:24 AM

What's up Phil? How is your ///M treating you?

No mods for me. It's pretty loaded. I can't imagine what else I need. And don't give me suggestions, she goes back in 3 years.

The only thing I'll be doing is getting a winter wheel set up. I want some good snow tires, hopefully on 255 19s. I know someone selling a set of style 232 19 inch X6 wheels but I'm apprehensive. Lots of people have said they should fit but I haven't heard any first hand experience. I can't exactly return them if they don't fit. Expensive mistake.

So if there are any fellow X6M owners out there that have 19s, please chime in. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer. They have the 232s in stock and are waiting for an M to come in so they can try for me.

Production date Sept 3rd! :tapping:

EDIT: Google is my friend. I found posts on another forum that said the only 19 inch wheels that will fit over the front brakes are style 298. They look pretty nice. It will cost more than the used 232s but as long as I can get 19s I'll be happy.

L, the ///M is wonderful :D And as for giving you ideas, let's see......I've seen a nice front lip ;).....ok I won't do that to you. The X6M is a beast....it was at the top of my list before I got the ///M3. I just couldn't justify the large profile vehicle. That was one of the reasons I got out of the X5. Plus the track bug got me bad....what can I say, I'm hooked. Try to keep your mind occupied and the wait time will fly by. Congrats and I'm now in the holding pattern with you......can't wait for photos ....................Phil

cmyX6go 08-30-2012 06:58 AM

Me too; both your and my X are long in the toofies.
I am frugal when it comes to new cars, and on a fixed income...you have less of an excuse, J! ;)

cmyX6go 09-01-2012 06:43 AM

I'm really trying not check the website constantly. I'm looking to take delivery early to mid October. My current lease is up the beginning of November. I told the dealer not to tell me when it comes in because I don't want it early

I have a mini road trip down to MD the end of October. The perfect first trip.

mD and Jeff - I agonized over whether to do this for a long time. Truth is, I'm still not sure if I made the right decision. I figure I should just get it out of my system once and for all. But will I be able to go back?

motordavid 09-01-2012 06:48 AM

L, most of us are just jealous...
It is 'hard to go back' to any less performance level, imo.

Even though my 2 fun to drive cars are a decade old, they have 'performance' and 'character'; when I get in V's 2 yr old Hyundai Tuck, it has pablum performance and nearly zip character. I suspect your new M/// will have OMFG performance.
GL, mD

I know. I laughed at my brother when he was trying to decide whether to take advantage on the great deal he got on his first B7. I told him to go for it but understand there was no going back. He waved me off saying it wouldn't be an issue and gave me the get it out of my system comment.

There is no going back. You won't enjoy less performance.....now the real problem will be what's next? I was talking with some guys today and the question came up of what's next. Honestly BMW has nothing that's grabbing my attention right now. I guess I could opt for a P-Car but who knows.......Phil

You'd settle for a P-car. Life is tough!

So I have a sick twisted mind. I had a dream last night that the dealer called me to tell me the ///M came in early. I rushed to the dealer and freaked. It was a cream color with snakeskin interior and trim, with big overstuffed seats, kind of like a grandma's cushy poufy couch. :yikes:

OMG!

:bustingup.............Nah.....it ain't like that! That's why is used the word opt....not settle. I've never really been a P-Car fan but in recent years they have started to peak my interest some. Also with me now being somewhat of a track rat, it's going to be hard to decide what's next if I get out of the ///M. I'm thinking the current ///M will be around for some time to come. The S65 engine is a masterpiece and having the last NA ///M motor is priceless.................Phil

On a good note, BMW came out with a pull ahead program that I qualified for. So they took care of my last payment.

STOP with the mods!

Well, she's in the driveway. I love the color, the space grey looks so much different than it does on the other models. There is a lot of metallic going on and it almost looks like a dark silver.

I haven't really played around with her much. I am disappointed in the leather though. I got the full Merino and it doesn't even come close to the Napa. I got spoiled. The Napa was soft and smooth and like sitting on an old leather jacket.

I'll try and take pictures tomorrow.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Thanks everyone.

I'm still getting used to it. I haven't jumped on it yet. Dealer said under 4500 rpms till 1200 mile service.

It's driving me crazy that I can't seem to get the seat position right. I can't get comfortable. :banghead: The seats are the same multi contour seats but yet they are different.

That damn servotronic speed senstive steering is making me absolutely nuts. It's not tight at low speeds  I miss my nice tight steering.

I'm sure I'll get used to it once I can take advantage of the ///M button :p:

X5X 09-24-2012 05:19 PM

Nice ///M! Love the colour :)

And now the mods... :D

Essam Khafagi 09-25-2012 06:06 AM

Congrats! ... miss you all :))

cmyX6go 09-25-2012 09:20 AM

Thank you X5X and Essam. I love the color too.

I'm getting used to it. I think I finally found the sweet spot for the seat. That was making me crazy. Same damn seats but I couldn't get the position right.

I'm pleasantly surprised on the fuel consumption. I'm already up to 12.5 mpg. My X6 was getting 12.0 when I turned her in. Of course the week I picked her up gas jumped 20 cents a gallon.

drex 09-26-2012 03:44 AM

Lol I'm getting 15.6 on mine. You must have lead footers syndrome!!

drex 09-26-2012 03:58 AM

Also, from what I understand there is no 1200 m service.., for x5m or x6m
