MPGs in M mode
 

I like driving in M mode to hear that deep tone from the exhaust. Does anyone know if the MPG are the same as non-M mode if you are just cruising and driving normal?

of course not... i do not know the numbers but it is obvious, the M mode is more aggressive and power demanding, and the power to the wheels demands more Joules produced at the powerplant, that will suck in more fuel to burn to generate the power...

simply driving aggressive without any computer mode changes will burn more fuel - and here you are changing the mapping of the power curvature, the fuel-air mixture, the timing... it is like drifting and expecting a long life out of the tires...:nanana::nanana:

With less of an exhaust restriction, slightly better.

I would think with less exhaust restriction and hotter spark that the engine would run more efficient. But is the M mode also increases the amt of fuel going in then maybe not

I think the differences are negligible. In your idrive, you can change the power from sport to efficient so when you hit the M button, "POWER" doesn't show up next to your gear indicator. From what I understand, sport power mode is a change in fuel maps and throttle responsiveness. Also changes gears at higher RPMs. So the biggest savings in fuel would be lowering your RPMs before each shift.
