X5M Idle issues
 

Hi Guys
Have a strange issue with my X5M, idle bounces from 500rpm then to 0, but not all the time, any ideas?

Did you ever get anywhere with this? Mine just came back from getting injectors and plugs. Sure enough, rough idle right in my driveway as I got home. Got a check engine light and engine malfunction warning on display. Went inside, had lunch, light was out when i restarted and it ran fine back to work. Been dealing with this for a year on and off.

Truck is going to dealer tomorrow. Will keep you posted

Just got the call on mine. Looks like there was a bunch of throttle faults,02 faults and a throttle too lean fault. Tech smoked the system and found a leak on the lower crank case hose of bank 2. Cracked o-ring was causing a major vacuum leak. They're keeping the truck til tomorrow to keep checking it out, but looks like problem finally solved.

Hope yours is this simple since it seems pretty common with these motors. Too much heat.

There is a breather hose that runs right over the turbos under the plenum , it's. Cheap plastic $3 hose that tends to crack from heating and cooling !!

Sounds like that may be the problem , hopefully in out same day running a lot better !!

Today mine starting idling between 2500 & 5000 then threw the engine malfuntion on iDrive and said reduced power :yikes:

I scanned it and got a P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected code. I cleared the code however I know it's going to come back on my way home from work tonight. The idle is still very low :(

I see a dealer visit in my near future.

My first idle issue was diagnosed with cracked engine breather valves (aka PCV) and $1800 later the idle issue comes back. The misfire code points to bad injectors and dealer wants $5600.
