driver side or passenger side firewall?

Does anyone know how to get from the engine bay to the cabin? Preferably to the drivers side? Need to bring some wires from the engine bay into the cabin?

Please help

thank you

I went through the firewall on driver's side. Take off the cover under the steering wheel (3 tiny screws). Reach up and feel where the existing wire loom comes through the firewall (up above the brake pedal to the left). It comes through a rubber grommet. That grommet has another "circular indent" that is not in use. You can use a small step drill bit to drill through the indent to remove the rubber. Be careful, inside the engine bay the grommet is fairly close to the brake booster and you do not want to drill into the booster. Inside the engine bay you will need to remove the cowling up near the firewall/windshield to access that area. Easy to do. I ran my Sti-R radar detector wires through that area in my last 3 BMW's with no problems. good luck.
