Battery Options for Replacement

Hi All,

I have a 2010 X5M and it seems to be time to replace the original battery - I am leaning towards the Interstate MT5-49/H8 - which seems to be compatible (from Interstate's website) - just wanted to check if anybody recommends that (or any other) battery as a direct replacement. I will get the battery registered/coded to the car once replaced - Please let me know if anybody has positive/negative experiences with specific replacement batteries.

Got dealer quotes for OEM battery replacement and was quoted $500+ for it - so thought I should do it myself and save a little $$$.....

Also, does anyone know if the original battery is an AGM or a standard Lead Acid - it is a Banner Battery with two part #s - 61217575327 and 61216924022 - 90AH, 160 RC, 900CCA

Any assistance is appreciated.

OE battery is made by Exide and its a AGM type. http://www.amazon.com/Exide-FP-AGML5...ds=car+battery

Check autozone, they typically carry the battery as well. You will need to code the new battery so that the car charges at the right rate. Dealer should do it for free or an Indy can as well.
