Regrets...
Anyone on here regret purchasing their X1 35i???
Which vehicles did you cross-shop and are you happy with your purchase? |
i guess i am the only one. anyhoo, sold. thanks for the input and feedback.

In the area where I live, the X1 seems to be a "send the kid off to college" (even when the X1 is the newest BMW in the household), or "first BMW" vehicle.
Brought this up on the forum over a year ago and got beat down HARD! Don't hate the messenger, hate the message. |
oh well... it has so much potential but apparently no love.

Fwiw, my CEO is eyeballing the new/2016 X1...
It looks like a slightly shrunken X vs a barely lifted 3 series that the current X1 resembles, imo. I like the look and stuff, but her '10 Hyundai Tuck with ~ 50k miles is not exactly worn out, or costing us anything in repairs thus far. And, I get the shivers thinking about a new/first Model Year BMW. So, maybe in late 2016. There are/were a few X1 owners here. Maybe they don't come around, and many posters/readers seem to hone in on 'their car' vs setting site controls for reading 'New Posts' or 'Today's Posts'. Back at the Buyer's Remorse Ranch, if you like the car, it runs well, etc, it doesn't matter as long is it a good ride for you. :D GL, mD |
i no longer have it... ditched it for a new F31 fully loaded... all options. very pleased.
if the x1m arrives stateside i may revisit the platform. |
Traded '10 X3 for '14 X 1 s
Honestly thought it would be a downgrade and would be up for disappointment on the sever side ( car was for the mrs.) After a few days of driving I like it way better than the X3. Yes, I was apprehensive at first and that is putting it mildly. But all things considered it has great pick up, turn radius, driver comfort ( I'm 6'0), sound, the view through the windshield (in comparison to my old 335i and X3 ) is considerably better... Let's just say it is 180 degrees opposite of what I was expecting. Now next would be an M upgrade certainly.

same. the x3 is overprice and overrated (IMO) and some say that about the x1 35i. if the 35i was available as a trim on the F31 it would have been perfect.
this is the current replacement: http://i59.tinypic.com/rt2f0l.jpg |
nice ride
i saw a similar set up not too long ago down and around tampa (don't recall exactly) and it's a scene stealer - congrats.

thanks, i appreciate it. the vehicle turns heads and it gets a fair amount of compliments but even though it's pretty fun with the added m-performance bits the vehicle is definitely lacking the pick-up and go it really needs. the darting ability of the x1 and the tossability of it is what made it such a fun car.
