How do I remove the driver's foot rest / deadpedal?
 

I have wet carpet and want to lift up my driver side carpet to see if it will air dry.

I have the hood release lever and the trim panel behind it off,...tried lightly prying under the foot rest,......but it isn't moving.

Any advise??

Turns out the entire carpet has to be pulled up. The foot rest appears to be attached to the carpet. I was prying between the carpet and footrest. Still would like to know how to release the footrest from the carpet if anyone knows how.

I had a water problem. Ended up being vapor barriers. If you look through here I also have info on using e46 door seals as they are thicker and make a better seal

yeah, I tore my left rear door panel off last week,....and the entire vapor seal is detached along the bottom....I was able to get the foam dried out,.....started with towels to soak up water, then squeezed more water out of the foam,....then blotted the area dry,....sprayed with an anti-mold and mildew spray,...and then placed "Damp-Rid" in the left foot wells. Still have to get some Butyl tape to re-secure the vapor barrier.

I ended up using the heavy black silicon and went over the entire barrier with that heavy duty gorilla tape it worked rather well
