Just a quick update. Been driving around all day and I have to say I love how my exhaust sound now!

mystic did you just cover the hose with elec. tape what did u do with the vacumm part in the muffler,

The vacuum part is the hose not the part on the muffler. I just covered the plastic hose w/ electrical tape (or some people use golf tees) so it won't suck up any dust. I guess you can cover the the part on the muffler too, you might want to check how hot that runs first or it might melt.

i did it.. it sounds nice. except i had no one to press the gas while i was outside the car so i dnt know exactly what it sounds like.. hehe.. otherwise thanks for the mod.. I taped it up with electrical tape and not a golf tee and its just hanging around... i need to find a way to have it snugged somehwere..

By removing the flap, aren't we reducing back pressure? And by reducing back pressure, the engine doesn't have to work as hard to push the exhaust out of the car. So our little free mod is actually getting us better gas mileage? I guess this is good for those that do a lot of local driving.

Has anyone gotten headers to further reduce back pressure?
