X3 E83 N52B30 engine oilfilter
 

when i changed the oilfilter in my 3.0Si N52B30 engine, i didnt see any plastic insert inside the paperfilter attached to the oilfiltercap.
is there supposed to be one ?
also the new oilfilter just is not fixable to teh oilcap, just touching it.
as i sometimes have a VANOS error i might have an oil pressure problem due to the oilfilter,

You should have a cage inside the filter, sounds like it might have been removed during a previous oil filter change. Get a new oil filter cap, the cage prevents the filter from collapsing, restricting oil flow.

also i read from somebody , that the oilfilter desintegrated and clogged the inner oil pipes - a desaster.
i am getting the cage
