Creaking driver's seat

My leather driver's seat has started squeaking/creaking when going around
corners (i.e. when I shift weight slightly to the right), or when braking. :(

It sounds like it is coming form the left side, very near to the seat
adjustment controls. For lack of a better description, it is like a
faint bedspring-type noise.

It occasionally did this before, but I guess I never really noticed.
Anyone have any ideas? Could this be due to the leather contacting something?

what year is your X5 and how many miles, may just be age getting to it.

mine has been doing this for a while, I've got an '02 X5 with about 55000 miles. I had the stealer take everything off and lube it up, but the noise came back. I find that not extending the bottom part of the seat all the way up eliminates this noise. You know how you can raise the seat itself, and then on that same button you can raise just the bottom part to change the angle of the seat bottom? Hope you figure something out!

Actually, mine's a 2005 with ~3,000 miles.

Regarding raising the seat, I see what you mean but I shouldn't have to put up with an awkward driving position just to cure an alleged seat creaking noise.

Thinking about it, I'll see if it isn't actually the seatbelt, as reported by other BM owners.
That could be another possibility I suppose, as the same motions (braking/turning) that cause the creaking invariably also change the position of the seatbelt.

I have the same problem with the X5. It sounds like plastic to plastic noise  but I only hear it when I'm gettin' into the car but not in corners or when I brake.

Don't know if I'm just going to put up with it or go to the $tealer, it does not bother me that much since it ony happens when I get in.

If you find a solution please post it here :)

Same with my 04 X3. Creaks if I shift left or right... -and- my seat is always in the downright position...

Doesn't happen in the passengers seat though... interesting...

Check to see if the screws and bearings on the seat are in good condition and tightened properly. I have the same problem with my S class mercedes, and it gets very annoying.
