Power window master switch acting up, worth it to diag, or just replace it?

Today all 3 other switches work. Yesterday nothing did. Last week all worked, week before, just the other 3.

Comes and goes, works sometimes.

Is it even worth it diagnosing, or is it common for the PWMS to die or have issues?

Totally up to you as to your finding your solution or replacement. My experience.... I have/had this problem. but only if the passenger control switch gets wet. I did find one on Ebay and have been sitting in the ordering -Q- for a year now. The master switch controls this window just fine. Only on occasion do I have a passenger in the 06. and mostly I have the windows raised because the a/c runs like a boss! Need that here in south GA.
So for my purposes "Why bother" I say...as long as I keep it dry.

I just got a spare X3 that i will be getting on the road and use the current one for parts...

The one i just got has heated wheel, but manual seats and climate control. Im worndering how easy it will be to put the power seats and climate in.

Man that's great...you can now sell some parts to me! Hold it your up in VT...isn't that Vermont? Lol...anyways that seems doable with the seats. My experience is just swapping electric for electric. I'm guessing here but BMW will wire a car for the electricals but if the car order calls for a non electrical component they will tuck away the harness...hope that's the case for you...good find and good luck! Same year the two Xs ?

God i hope its all the same harness.

Yeah its an 04, with half the miles. My current one has 204444 miles, the new (to me) one has 103k.

Its quite bare bones, 2.5, manual vinyl-ish seats, no storage, manual climate control, no auto lights or wipers. Ill miss all those!

But.... It has a heated steering wheel, so i got that going for me.

My plan is to park mine after i fix the power steering, 4x4 issues and brakes on the other one. It has no rust. So ill slowly move parts into it, fix my heated leather seats (the elements in the drivers seat are weak) and make that easy swap. The 2.5 is also all grey, ill do an easy trim swap of my light wood into it. I dont see an easy way to move over the auto lights, wipers or climate, but ok, whatever.

My 204k one has broken a/c, a clicking axle, clunking auspension and rust.

But they are the same grey, so its an awesome score.
