2008 X3 tail gate light not working
 

Anyone know what circuit this tailgate light is part of? I have a dash error for a light out, and I can't get the light shown to come on, either side. No power to bulb with brake on, parking lights, reverse, etc. Test the bulb and it's good. Other bulbs and LEDs in lens assembly work as they should.

Do you know what rear fog lights are?

As RocketyMan said, are you sure you are chasing a tail light fault or a fog light fault? Turn on the fog light switch and see if your bulb lights. I can send wiring info if you need.
