China Manufactured Transfer Cases on eBay. Anyone here try it?

So I bought my X3 with someone who thought it would be funny to pull the front driveshaft off and seal up the transfer case, it's a real botched job to make the car RWD.

I am looking to bring it back to AWD, and I am looking at transfer cases. I am trying to see if anyone has any experience with it or should I just source a used one from the junkyard?

I find a ton of them on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...+case&_sacat=0

Opinions welcome for the best way to approach this (I am not sure if it's worth getting a used one and rebuilding it before putting it on just to make sure I don't get an issue 1-2k miles down the road)

I appreciate in advance any guidance and feedback

PS: No, I'm not considering selling it and buying a different E83 :)

BMW sells alot of Sdrive (RWD) newer gen X3s to people that live in warmer climates that might not need/want Xdrive. Assuming that you're still in FL from your sig, maybe keep it RWD and enjoy it as one of the only Sdrive E83 X3s around?? Unless you absolutely need the Xdrive capability, then I'd go with a local, trusted salvage yard for a used TC vs rolling the dice with an internet one and dealing with shipping. Does it drive fine as is? Are you doing srs overlanding where you need Xdrive?
