X3 and Voice Recognition
 

I wanted to tell you guys about getting voice recognition if you have an X3 similar to mine. I have an '05 X3 3.0i without premium package and no Assist.

I installed a visteon bluetooth module (-387 and a -522) and all other bluetooth accessories. I inquired about why my vehicle did not have VR since the new visteon modules had this built-in. After much research by myself and the dealership, the car would require a new Vehicle Order from BMW with the SA620 option. And even with this, the dealership would not guarantee me that it would work. In addition, the cost of getting a new VO would cost approximately $600 with the car being in the shop for at least 3 days. Therefore, I've given up hope in getting VR in my X3 without paying an arm and a leg for it. Hope this helps others as well.
