Test-drove the X3 Yesterday

The CEO's jag's lease is up in a couple of months, so we decided to go to the BWM stealer to check out the X3. (She LOVES my X5, but she wants to keep the payments lower.)

Anyway, long story short, I was impressed, and so was she. Actually, she loved it! No, it's not the X5, but it IS a nice ride. Very nimble, and as roomy as the X5. (I actually read somewhere that the X3 is bigger on the inside than the x5?) We're trying to do European delivery, but apparently, you're supposed to order any European-delivery car 90 days in advance.

Will keep you guys posted.

It is a nice bimmer no doubt, but for the plastic. If I buy X3 I will put the AC Schnitzer body kit to get rid of the plastic look. Just my http://www.acurazine.com/forums/imag...ies/2cents.gif .

I would get the OEM aero kit if I were to get the X3. Just say no to black bumpers.

You know what? When we drove it, I asked my wife about the interior. She did not mind it, or think it was too plasticky or cheap. As long as she's happy, that's what matters.

JK: I & theCEO like it, too. (Though we can barely tolerate Fletcher or Centruy, the only Stlrs within an hr&half.)

Budgeto-wise, if may be on back burner when/if the Dow and its brethern settle near the bottom today or later this week. It's only a paper loss, but us no real income ol'guys get nervous even on paper losses.

I like the X3, though, espc the sport. The '05 sport I drove is considerably less jarring than the '04 sport I did.
GL w/the pick and you are correct Sir, : if theBoss is happy, the whole household is happy! BR,md

I've got mixed feelings on the X3... I think it's a pretty nice-looking car (with the exception of the rear third-quarter window.. It's annoying!). I think the interior is good in certain colors. My favorite that I've seen is actually the Terracotta. It stands out and it looks especially good with aluminum trim. The beige seems to get dirty easily and the black is too dismal. But I've driven a few and they handle very well and the 3.0i moves along pretty well. The 2.5 is like a rock. I think it would be cool to own, and you can keep all of us informed about what it's really like to own one.
Like Breyton said, get the OEM aero kit.... sooo nice!
Good luck with your shopping!

Well, this will be my wife's car, and she could care less for any aero kits. She'll get it however she wants it. She just wants a good-quality SUV, and the X3 is a logical choice since she loves my X5 so much.
