Red Air Bag Light

Anyone have their red airbag light come on repeatedly on the dash? (I am not talking about the yellow airbag light next to the moonroof button) It has come on 4 times in the past year. 1st time it was a pinched wire behind the C pillar. 2nd time it was a fautly control module. 3rd time the fault was just cleared. And now it came on again! Will the airbags still deploy properly even when the light is on? I see this as a huge safety issue.

We have a similar problem on our X5.
The red airbag light was/is lit. What this meant was that the airbag control module is toast.

In turn this means that, yes, you will still have airbag deployement if you get into an accident. But now all airbags will deploy at full force. The airbag control module controls the number of airbags to deploy and the force/speed with which to deploy them.

The best/safest thing to do is to replace the airbag control module. But know that if you get into an accident in the mean time your airbags should still be working.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping for.
