wind noise
 

i have a 2005 3.0i X3

does anyone else get the whistling noise that seems to come from the drivers side mirror? it is worse at high speeds and i can even hear it through the window.

i think its the air passing by the side mirror arm....

The noise is noticable for me between 40-50 mph. I do not hear it at highway speeds.

I don't get a "whistling" noise, but wind noise is greater in the X3 than other BMW cars. I think you may be right about the mirror causing some of it. I also think the way the windshield is set into the A pillars instead of a 'flush" fit has something to do with it.

The slight noise does not really bother me at all. It's not that loud. With a few good tunes playing on the stereo, even at low levels, I don't even know it's there.

yeah, i usually have the music on so its not a big deal. i was just curious to see if any one else could hear it. i thought maybe i was just halucinating...
