Panarama roof
This dam roof is really getting to me. It all started when everytime i take it in a touchless car wash it leaked where the sunroof switch is, and i know its a high preassure stream of water but if its not happening on my 1990 4Runner so it shouldnt happen with a 2002 X3. So i take it do the dealer and they replace the hole thing. Now that i got it back and went through the car wash again i noticed that it stopped leaking from the front, but when i look at the back, (with the cover open) water is dripping in from the sides where the tracks are and from the back of the roof. Has anyone noticed this and if so is it normal. Please let me know.
Thanks guys. Cheers. |
No, it's not normal.....maybe you're unlucky and got one with moonroof issues. Mine's never leaked once. You ought to take it into the dealer and explain what happens.

I had similar issues, water from front through the microphone housing even. The cassete needs to be checked, and aligned properly, also drainiage holes should be cleaned out. Invariably some water will make it through the soft seals on the sides, but this should "exit" the cassete through your drainage holes. If your car is parked outside in a storm, try to park with the nose pointing downwards, as this helps any water run to the front section and then it escapes via these holes.
You do need to go to the dealer and have everything inspected, nothing worse than after working late nights on call, and there is the added bonus of cold water dripping on your head while you are trying to make it back to your bed. Cheers, |
