adapter instalation for ipod

i just bought from mp3yourcar.com a kit (not aux) called neo ion for bmw cars with no navigation to connect to the i pod from the base

has anyone fitted this part so i get some help fitting it ??

Kris@modmynav 05-01-2006 05:23 AM

I don't think anyone from here has neo icon - mostly go with ice>link Plus
however, I checked their website, they had installation demo clip on their main page (it was for honda S2000 tho)
I think that should give you some ideas.

good luck with your mod!

Isn't the CD changer cables on an X3 located in the armrest console?

If the X3 is SA693-prep (Sirius prewired) the cables are in the cargo area on the driver's side.

Actually, the cables for the CD changer ARE in the centre/armrest regardless of the presence (or absence) of prewiring for sat radio. My "old" X3 which was prewired for sat radio, and had no nav had the wires in the centre console, as does my current X3 which has nav and sat radio. The Sirius and Nav cables are in the trunk on the driver's side.

Correct, they will source from the center console, the SA693 package extends the wiring to the cargo area where the Sirius reciever would be.

When I installed my ice>Link iPod cable, I couldn't find the CD changer cable in the armrest console, so I used the cable in the rear of the vehicle. If you do that, you have to remove the radio from the front, and swap the connectors. I forget what the new connector is labeled, but it's something like "SDARS" if I remember correctly.

Good luck!
