If you cannot find the cable bundle, you need to remove the bracket to gain access. This only takes about 15 minutes. The cable will be towards the back seats.

Tom, I'm considering the XM kit for my X3, but I have a question. My X is "Satellite Ready" so does that mean that I won't need an additional antenna? I was under the assumption that the "shark fin" antenna had the satellite antenna integrated within. (or maybe it only works with Sirius?)

The antenna you have is specifically for Sirius, the connector is different for XM. Also, does your M3 have Navigation or Business CD? The XM is only compatible with Business CD setups.

As for the antenna - we like to hide them in the rear spoiler, this keeps an ugly antenna hidden from sight.

I have the non-nav. Do you have any pictures of the mounting procedure in the rear spoiler?

Tom G. and Jayhox........My IPOD is up and jammin. You were both right about location. I didn't have to take middle support out, it was a strain on the tips of my fingers though getting it up from the back..whew Thanks for the feedback on the location of cable. If you can't see it ........it is there just down toward back of center of console. :o)

Tom, I was under the impression that the antenna had to be grounded? (usually by mounting on the metal trunk or roof with the magnet). So I have two questions about mounting it in the rear spoiler: If it's back there, it won't be grounded, right? Will this be a problem? And will the reception suffer by being hidden under the plastic spoiler cover?

Not at all, most of the time we affix the antennas with double sided tape underneath the rear spoiler for a stealth view.
