Im running different tires in the front and the back and my mechanic said that could be why my 4x4 light and ABS kicks on because of the different rotation of the wheels due to the two different size tires.

Should i buy them all the same size? I have a 315 /35 in the back and 275 / 40 i think in the front.. Dont quote me on that im guessing...

I can't see how this would cause the warning lights to flick on. Most Sport Model BMWs come with different width tyres (tires).

Firstly ,may I congratulate you on your wheel choice.I am not a big fun of the X3 styling but those wheels make the car look fantastic!

Your mechanic doesnt know what he is talking about! Both size tyres have exactly that same rolling diametre,(728mm)so the rotation is the same!
However,I dont know if you are aware of this but you size tyres are X5 specs,NOT X3.The rolling diametre of the X3 tyre is 690 mm,so with you tyres now you are sitting 38mm(1.5") higher than with your oem tyres, and this maybe affecting your ABS readings but I doubt it!

Do you have the oem wheel set up?Put them on !If the Abs,Dsc still lights up,you know its not your 20" wheels!Good luck and keep us posted.

New member... Does anyone know if I can put 7-series (e38) stock wheels on an 04 X3 2.5? I know the wheels are both 5x120 pattern, but am unsure if the offset isa problem?
