Gloss Black Grill
 

I want to paint my grill gloss black to match my shadow line trim. Right now they are matte black. Can I just spray clear coat over it or do I have to spray gloss black then clear coat?

Is your grill matte black painted stock or just normal black abs plastic?
If its abs plastic (unpainted),you need to sand it off lightly(so as not to scratch) with 2000 wet sand paper,dry it,apply clear plastic primer,black matte paint and finally a clear coat.

If your grille is painted matt from stock,then all you need is to use 2000 wet sand paper and apply the clear coat.

Go buy a set of NEW grills. The grills in our 06 are gloss black. Save your self the grief of painting them
