DSP coax and CDC 3-pin connector
So I just installed my sirius and its working fine, but now I want to install an i-BMW-t ipod integration from DICE. The instructions say that the CDC dsp coax and 3-pin connection is in the center consel, but I am not sure exactly what they mean... If I just remove the armrest 'bucket' will i find these 2 things just sitting there unconnected and ready to go, or will I need to identify and disconnect them? Or do I need to remove the whole center consel to get at them? Anybody know the specifics?
BTW: I have DSP, NAV, Sirius on a 2006... |
Just pull straight up on the bin within the centre console, poke around in there and there will be a bunch of wires/connectors Velcro'd together. It'll be a challenge finding them as they are well hidden, but they're there. Mine were hidden beneath the metal base of the centre console, so you have to look carefully and be patient.

Here's a pic what we are referring to:

Tom-
That picture says 'non-sirius pre wiring' on...my car had sirius pre wiring. Will that make a difference? |

Thanks Tom, that makes a lot more sense, I was just not seeing it in the center console. So, in the picture, the Larger(12-pin) connector and the Blue cable go to the Sirius and the 3-pin and 6-pin go to the ipodintegration. And the White cable is unnused. Is that right?

Tom,
If you know, why is the white connector no longer used for Sirius? Can the newer generation Sirius receivers get a terrestrial signal (the unused white connector) via the satellite (blue connector) antenna. Is there a way to combine the antenna signals into a single input for the newer receivers? Thanks. P.S. Hello everyone. New member with a 2005 Titanium Silver over gray leather. |
