Forgot, also have an air gage. Just use the BMW 5w-30. It's a great deal at any dealer and some will give you 10% off with a BMWCCA card.

thanks Rick

I need to get some from the dealer.

Do you guys keep tools in the "well" under the rear hatch, where the jack is? seems like there is room there, but i'd hate for anything to get mixed up with the battery, etc.

the little tool area to the left side of the hatch area is pretty small...I managed to fit a six in one screwdriver in there, but there's not much room

I hate to have stuff visible/cluttered/bouncing around back there

Also...does anybody have a good recommendation an a good in-between washes/detailing interior cleaner, for the seats and the dash/trim?

My tools/load include bungees, shovel/pick, X3 blanket/poncho (they're currently on sale on BMW Online), several "universal" tools (screwdriver w/ head attachments, adjustable wrenches, etc) and a leatherman. When you've got the room, why not?

PeterNYC 06-26-2006 07:02 PM

a leatherman is a good calll
shovel/pick? Where do you stow that?

i have bungees as well...always handy...esp when you live with a woman who packs as much as/has closets like mine does, :)

It's one of those old army style that folds up. I actually store it with the battery in that open area under the floor . . . I wrap it in a towel to keep it from banging around but it's there in case I need it.

Swissarmy knife on key chain, and a cellular phone. What toolbox? it's not your father's Chevy. ;)

PeterNYC 06-30-2006 12:16 AM

LOL donald duck...not it's not a chevy
my father actually had a volvo p1800...beautiful little coupe...I can still remember the seats and belts and learning to drive a stick on it

I just asked re the toolbox b/c there is so much room in the rear hatch....Seems a shame to drive around empty handed

better safe than sorry i guess

Added the wheel hanger tool. Never know when a flat tire will occur in an area without cell phone/BMW assist coverage.

Since we have a spare tire, we don't need to carry a pump and a tire repair kit like I have on my bike. We also have a flash-light already in glove department, always charged... We have all set of spare fuses too.

PeterNYC 07-01-2006 01:02 PM

the bmw tools look great...where can you find them?

fuses...good idea

we have a spare as well, i think everybody would...some seem to have the pump/kit AND a spare
