Man, that's a big pop. Must have been something bigger than a softball. Didn't you see it comming? Insurance gonna cover it I suppose. Sure is a hassle but at least you get a nice clean new one!

sucks about the deductible. In Mass it doesn't cost a dime if you have full coverage....

Yeah, things happen pretty fast at that speed!

I hope the new installation goes off without any hitches. Don't want to worry you, but I have read some posts about the rain sensor not working properly when an aftermarket windshield is installed. Something about the rain sensor having to be applied to the glass and if they dont get it on right or use the old one it doesn't work properly. From what I read it's best to get the OEM glass because it has the sensor already applied from the factory.

didnt know the speed limit was 100mph in FL?

I guess FLA doesn't have the no-ded law for windshields? It's the law in SC - any repairs to the windshield are free...

...with, I'm sure, a corresponding increase in insurance rates...

You're welcome!

Now just make sure whoever replaces the windshield actually does use new, original BMW glass. I would specifically tell them what you want. Although I have not experienced this myself I did read about it on a BMW forum and it was about the X3. I just figure better safe than sorry!

Great! I guess everything went OK then from the thumbs-up smilies. Glad your X is back to normal!
