Squeaky brakes
Anyone have this problem? When i am slowing down to 0mph i hear a slight squeak when i have my windown down i hear it and its quite annoying.
i have 1706 miles on my X3 |
That also happened to me when the car was new (<1000 miles). It suddenly started after a few hundred miles then went away.

Squeaky brakes are a result of a combination of metal to metal harmonic vibrations...
You can cure this by using a vibration dampening agent...on my Beemer Bikes I ALWAYS, when changing pads, put a small dab of brake caliper grease on the back of the pad that meets the caliper piston.. This in effect acts as a vibration damening agent and works like a charm...! NOTE DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GET ANY OF THE AGENT NO MATTER WHAT TYPE, BUT SPECIFICALLY THE GREASE ON THE ROTOR OR PAD !..YMMV... Later Nick |
All cars brakes' squeak at some point in time. Try washing the wheels using a high pressure hose.

Mine did/do the same thing. I took it into the dealer to get fixed and got this back: No Abnormal Noise Noted, Some Brake Noise is Normal
Perhaps I will try the car wash idea and see what happens. |
