Hub and Caliper Paint

Has anyone noticed any discoloration of their hub carrier and or brake caliper...?

If so has anyone painted them..if so what product did you use...?

Thanks

Nick

I used this product in silver last weekend on my E46.

Goes on easily and the finish is very good. They give you plenty of paint too. I had more than 2/3 of the can left after I put on 2 coats. I didn't use it on my rotor hubs because I thought it was a bit too glossy. I used an aluminum colored spray engine enamel instead. As with all painting jobs most of the work is in the cleaning/prep.

Thanks for the feedback...

I need to do the hub a well...and I think you are right in the method that you did it....hmmmm

What color now....I am leaning towards red.....whaddya think on a black X3 with camel interior....??

For the love of all that is good, do not paint your hubs any color other than gray or silver. That's how they look when brand new. Painting calipers isn't really my thing either but painting them silver looks good.

I painted my calipers and rotor hubs to cover the rust and hopefully keep it cleaner. I wasn't after the BBK look which is why I used silver. I agree with PNG, using any color other than silver on the rotor hubs will look goofy.

G2 is long time favorite paint system for brake calipers.. its an epoxy blend and very durable.

Well Thanks all...I have decided the Rotor hubs to be silver...and the calipers to be red....I just like the way the red looks...it is that way on my boxster and my 57 MGA so why not this one as well...

BUT, my wife will have none of it on her Honda pilot !!!

hand painted red looks really bad... seriously.. grab a can of silver just in case. you could always return the silver if you don't end up using it...

Do you think leases will have a problem with painted calipers and rotors when handing it back in..
