Is my X3 2004 or 2005 model
 

I bought my X3 last year, it was less than a year old. First registration 2004/11. I'm curious to know, is it 2004 or 2005 model. Any ideas what has changed in 2005 model? Or is there something that 2004 model does not have?

Fastest and easiest way to tell. What color are your interior door handles?

Black plastic= 2004
Something that looks like aluminum/silver= 2005+

Have you looked at the tag in the door sill? That'll tell you what model year the car is. First Reg doesn't mean anything but the build date will tell all.

Look at the drivers door sill side. Or you can also use this web site .

Check your drivers door sill or if your really lazy just look at the front fender next to the door: two piece is an 04' and one piece is an 05'...

An even easier way to tell is the front fender. The 2004 fender has a split-line between the front door and the front wheel well. It's 2 separate pieces. the 2005 is one piece.

I think its a 2005, door handles are teak .. or somekind of "wood plastic".

Like you see in the pic, I think that bumper is made from one piece.. I'll check the tag on drivers door tomorrow..
