X3 Comment about Front Hood.
 

Hey everyone, I just pre-orderd my 2005 X3 3.0i and I have been eagerly waiting ever since, so I'v been looking at pictures to pass the time :thumbup: . But there is one thing that I cought my eye afterwards. On the very front below the Kidney and above the black bumper there is this long gap of open space. This is starting to bug me because I dont get the purpose and it looks unfinished. :dunno: Does any one know why its there? And also I'm completly bummed out about them not having the Chrome trim for the 3.0i. They have that on every other model, and it makes your car stand out from the 2.5i which makes me feel better. But its not there. Uhhg. :tsk: The only thing i can think of is that there holding off tell the new engines come in with the boost in horsepower and what not. Whats up with only letting the Canadians get that feature. BMW USA, I dislike your thinking there.

I didnt notice the gap until you pointed it out here. It does look weird somehow. I checked the BMW aero kit, the same gap is there as well, there must be a purpose. Engine cooling? I want to know too.

I know right! I thought it just looked totaly out of place, hopefully some one knows what it is. Im heading up to Austin, i wont be back on the boards tell Sunday. Already looking forward to all the new topics!!!
